Political Risk Avoidance™ (PRA™) is a political approach based on a recognized and often used public health model known as “risk avoidance” or “primary prevention”. It is the standard approach used to address other risky choices which endanger our society, such as health choices (drinking, smoking, teen sexual activity). This approach is entirely appropriate and beneficial in addressing the risks of political abuse. As history has proven, every time a nation’s political structure changed from a constitutional republic (in which the government’s power over citizens is limited by the Constitution), to a political structure that enables a group of individuals / one individual to rule over others (also known as rule of the majority, rule of the politically privileged class or rule of position), there have been countless repercussions on individual’s financial stability, personal freedom, health.
This political approach has been developed by the Western Culture as an organic model and it differs from a “risk reduction” political model (which bases its success or failure exclusively on the performance, quality and values of the ruling class) in that it seeks to help individuals eliminate all risks of political tyranny, as opposed to simply reducing risk (by trying to prevent unethical groups to end up in the ruling position).
Political Risk Reduction is primarily focused on attributing the ruling power to the political group that wins the trust of the majority. In this sense, America’s political tension is rooted in the Democrat and the Republican party’s competition for winning the American public’s trust.
However, government over-growth and over-involvement in people’s lives normalizes population dependency on the government for healthcare, food provision, physical safety and finances; hence, it does not qualify as a sustainable system for a free society because it necessitates a strong governmental structure with a massive body of employees. In the Political Risk Reduction model, the political group that handles successfully marketing strategies and is awarded trust by the the majority of the population, wins the power to produce permanent changes in the society by the use of regulations.
The extraordinary value of the Constitution of the United States of America lies in the fact that it discourages the political risk reduction approach to blossom by nurturing the political risk avoidance climate that our Founding Fathers have established through the War for Independence. It frames the incontestable necessity for the existence of a government within the safe bounds of removing all ruling power of an individual or a group of individuals over (an)other individual(s). An over-reaching government is non-existing in a society in which there are no positions of power. The Constitution does not prevent a party or group of people from taking the position of power, it prevents the position of power from being created by recognizing people’s self-governing capacity. Thus, it eliminates all political risks.
Political Risk Avoidance is a concept developed by Ligia Brubaker as an extension of the “risk avoidance” public health method. In her previous life (before moving to the U.S.), Ligia was formally trained, certified and worked as an Architect in Europe for 10+ years. She is a first generation legal adult-immigrant.
